In Concert with Toyota Racing Development, Wolf Creek Rod Works has begun a project of building a custom FJ40, with frame and cab extended by ten inches, to house a 600 HP TRD racing engine provided by TRD Racing.  The engine is an aluminum based V8 from the Lexus series of engines.  It has been modified to run on street gas, thereby reducing it's Horse Power from over 800 HP to about 600 HP.  The engine is followed by a GM TH 400 transmission build specifically for this vehicle by Phoenix Transmissions in Weatherford, TX.  A custom torque converter and flex plate had to be fabricated to accomplish the adaption.  The transfer case is an Atlas four speed case provided by Advance Adapters.
